How many of you remember Baby Oil with Iodine, the 0 spf Sun accelerating tanning oil, sun reflecting shields we would hold under our faces...for hours? Yes I grew up at the beach with never a worry in the world. Never a thought to sun protection either. I still love love love the sun, but now at least I have a fab VU lous product to protect, moisturize and glamorize!!
Shield Your Skin – During the sunny ‘70s, baby oil, reflective tanning mats, and native tans were on trend – while sunscreen was beauty’s best-kept anti-aging secret. Not until recently has it become widely known and accepted that sunscreen is the most effective step you can take to deter wrinkles, fine lines, and other visible signs of aging skin.

What’s more, you must select your sunscreen carefully and use it properly to effectively shield your skin. Most dermatologists – particularly those specializing in skin cancer – recommend a sunscreen with a chemical and physical barrier in order to ward off both UVA and UVB rays. In addition, sunscreen must be reapplied every two to three hours, depending on your level of exposure and activity, which is why you cannot rely on an SPF built into your daily moisturizer. Take care to cover the hands and neck, the first places to show signs of age, as well as the often neglected ears, feet, shoulders, and nose.

I ordered my husband, Tim, the entire men's line and shipped it to St. Louis where we will be for Thanksgiving. I was overjoyed to find it waiting for him when we arrived at his parents. (Thanks VV Fulfillment!) The packaging and bags were really great!

Beau Baume:
I typically use a shave brush with Crabtree and Evelyn soap at home and Edge gel when traveling, so I was skeptical that I would like it... When I put it on it didn't seem like it would work because it was so much less lather on my face. But, I was really impressed. Just a little of the balm was enough to cut through 3 days of stubble. There was a nice razor glide... very smooth and comfortable. Felt really great! I will definitely use this product.
Formule 1:
Loved the smell... Grapefruitty and nice for shampoo and body wash. As far as a face wash, I typically don't use one, but really liked the Formulae 1. I will definitely use it! My face felt great. (Julena said it smelled nice too.)
Habitude:
Today, I use a Nivea product that I get from the grocery store, which is inexpensive, which I like because I use a lot of it. Again, I have to say that I will definitely be changing to the new VV face lotion. A little went a long way with Habitude. It was much less greasy than the Nivea and also didn't have that "manly, musky" smell that I hate. If I wear cologne, I wear Hermes D'orange Vert, so I dig the citrus smell and again, won't have to use as much.

So congrats to VV on the men's line. I will definitely be using it.

Take Care of Your Skin ~ It's Irreplaceable

Your skin is a living, breathing organ of your body. As such, just like every other organ in our body, it needs to be fed from the inside and the skin requires nutrients.

Here are the 4 basic ingredients to beauty within:
Good nutrition: Keep it simple, fresh and unprocessed. The simpler the food, the less processing and the fresher your food is, the better it is for you. Fresh fruit and vegetables contain so many of the nutrients we need to maintain our health.

Adequate rest and relaxation: Make sure you get the sleep you need. Did you know that a study in England showed that your IQ (intelligence) drops if you do not have 8 hours sleep per night? Think about it, do you get more work done if you feel well rested? Can you concentrate better if you’re not tired? Well, why not invest some additional time into rest and relaxation so that you gain an increase in energy and concentration?

Sufficient water intake: Most people (irrespective of where they live) will utilize around 3 liters of water per day. Our body simply needs water to function. Water is necessary to keep cells from dehydrating, to help in eliminating toxins from the body.
If you do not drink at least 3 liters of water per day, every day, your body will either not function well (on some level) or it will take it from where ever it can. This is called dehydration. So, drink up (water, mind you) or shrivel up – it’s up to you.

Fresh air and sunshine: Taking a deep breath of air and tell me it does not feel great. Oxygen is the stuff of life and one can never go wrong with the right amount of sunshine! Make sure you are protecting your skin with sun block.

What does all this have to do with skin care?

Well, that is the point of putting expensive, beauty products on your skin, when you do not give it the stuff of life from the inside? The cells that make up your skin need the right nutrients for proper development, growth and all that… You can help your skin by using good quality skin care products, but you have to support this from the inside as well. Only in that way can you expect to get good results from proper skin care:
Three basic steps:
1. Cleanse and Condition
2. Hydrate and Tone
3. Moisturize and Revive.
Cleansing the skin seems obvious and I know, we all know how to use soap, wrong answer! This is one sure way to make your skin dry-out quicker. Most soap removes the natural oils of the skin and changes the natural pH levels. The skin produces oils and acids to help it function, to protect it from loss of excessive moisture, to form a barrier… etc. So please do not use a soap cleanser, find a cleanser that is a milk base and maintain that protective barrier on your face.

The next step is to hydrate and tone the skin…
Now it’s time to remove the residue, sooth the skin and prepare the skin for getting a good feed of nutrients from the moisturizer. This is when you must use a toner/tonic. This product is often skipped by women because they don’t see the need. There is a definite need, this actually gets your face back to the proper pH level and removes any remaining dirt.

I first meet Harold Zimmerman, president and CEO of Votre

Vu, sitting in an Airstream trailer decked out with a high-end

cosmetics bar, in the midst of CMA week, parked outside of Big

River. The crowds are already going nuts, and the chic, red carpet

Zimmerman's a laid back guy in a black T-shirt, and he's also a man

with a plan—he's bringing customers high-end, high-quality skin

care (created by a respected French company with 80 years experience

behind its name, and comparable to the best names in the

business—Sisley, La Mer), and eliminating the middleman, to keep

costs low. He's completely revamped direct marketing as a concept—

making it more user- and seller-friendly, and wiping out all

the aspects of direct sales that habitually turn customers off.

Company Origins

Zimmerman made a name for himself with Next Wave Logistics,

a company that explores wholly new ways of creating direct

marketing strategies, making use of the latest technological developments.

Working to fill the niche combining high-tech with

marketing, Zimmerman decide to build his own company—one

"When I decided the way to go was skin care," says Zimmerman,

"I knew, the team knew, it had to be the best, period. High-end

skin care is an ill-served market—the less expensive tends to be low

to medium grade, the expensive is out of the reach of a lot of

consumers. We wanted something high grade for about a fourth of

the price, and we knew we could blow everyone out of the water."

Zimmerman literally searched the world for the very best,

discovering it in France, where fine-grade botanical ingredients

were used in high quantity to create products both potent and

effective. The French lab producing Votre Vu is a third-generation,

family-owned company—the current formulator literally learned at

his mother's knee. When Zimmerman found them at a trade show

in Dallas, the company wanted to market to high-end spas, as they

did in Europe. Zimmerman shared his own plan for bringing them

to America—viral, grassroots and readily available to consumers.

"We focused on 20-30 products they already had, then worked

with them to develop 20 or so more, often by tweaking formulas

they already had," says Zimmerman.

that the French have a different approach to skin care—it's about

health, it's preventative, it's in their culture from early youth. That's

our angle. It's not a last-minute consideration when you see signs of

sun damage or fine lines."

Soete points out the products are gentle—there's no abrasive

cleansing and no drying (which actually promotes even greater oil

production in the skin). Concerned with health inside and out, the

company even makes Snapdragon, a "beauty beverage" rich in antioxidants

(and great by itself, or as a champagne cocktail—seriously).

I am dedicating this website to all those women 30 and older that have never really appreciated or taken the time to appreciate good skin care. I am definitely one of those many millions of women.

I am a tried and true “baby boomer” and never in my life followed a good skin care regimen and today I know that I did myself a major disservice.

How many of you have the “grave-yard” skin care product drawer? I had a little bit of everything, Oil Of Olay, Lancome, Arbonne and Estee Lauder. I am not sure why I jumped from brand to brand other then I don’t believe I got a result oriented experience from any one of them.

As I was getting closer to 50, I realized I should be doing something on a regular basis to try and fight the signs of aging and to try and conquer the sudden dryness my skin was starting to experience. I considered going to a salon for a facial… nah…too expensive. I considered calling in NuSkin…nah…I believe they are only a gimmick with that Galvanic Spa. So maybe I needed to go back to Arbonne…how could I possibly stick with Arbonne when there is no where I can find the list of ingredients??

So…what does one do? I tell you what you do…you go online and begin researching! A new suburban-based luxury skin care company is drastically different from the makeup catalogs your mom used to order from, according to the Naperville founder. Harold Zimmerman launched Votre Vu, a direct selling company, because he felt the skin care market was underserved. While researching the concept, he looked to Europe where facial care is far more important than here.

"French women have been babying their skin for years," said Zimmerman, 38.

What makes the Votre Vu the best pay plan to work with?

1. Build deep, not wide. Some companies tell you to build wide, which means you want to sponsor as many people direct to you as possible. And when you do that, you are not helping your other teammates build their business. It creates a competiveness I didn’t like. With Votre Vu, you build deep and when you sponsor someone, you have the ability to place them under others which can help their volume and your volume. Keep in mind you can’t help everyone all the time, but you eventually will and even your sponsor can place people under your people.
2. There is no breakaway. In some companies, when someone promotes to your same level, you can only take a portion of their volume to help your volume. In VV, you always count all the volume.
3. You get paid all levels down. In other companies, you have to have as many direct managers to you to get paid that level deep. And you can only get paid down 6 levels. For instance, if you only have 2 direct Areas (you are 2 wide) but your one Area has 4 direct Areas to her, you only get paid on the volume from 2! This is referred to as a runaway leg.
4. There are no month ends. We work on a 4 week schedule, not a month. What this means is every week is a good week to join. And whatever is not used for cycle bonuses and the end of a week gets carried over to the next week as long as you are considered active. Active is key!
5. You don’t have any qualification periods. To get to a manger level with other companies, you have volume goals set for 1,2 or 3 months and to keep your percentage payout at that level, you must do a certain volume every month or you have to start over again. They do have a performance account you can draw from if you don’t meet your monthly volume, but once that is gone, you drop and need to rebuild. With VV, if you meet a certain requirement for 4 weeks, you get paid at that level for bonuses. Every 4 weeks could be a different level - it doesn't matter what you did the 4 weeks before!
6. No car progam. You can earn a bonus and you can choose what you want to do with the cash. Buy a car, a boat, a second home or pay for your children's education. With the car only programs, if you don’t earn your bonus for the month, you still have to pay for your car.
